Aiki JutsuTraining Times:- Tuesday 8.30pm - 10.00pm CLASS AGE RANGE: 16+ An old Japanese proverb says “Furuki O Tazani Atarashi O Shiru” – Study the old to understand the new. Aiki Jutsu (Technique of Harmonious Spirit) is the forerunner to the modern art of Aikido (Way of Harmony) as seen in today’s society. The emphasis is still on using flowing circular techniques from the centre. It is the art (Jutsu) where the student sees the powerful applications. The student will learn how the movements can be used against armed and unarmed opponents and that they can apply these ancient techniques to modern life. Wednesday 4.30 - 5.30pm Advanced Thursday 4.30 - 5.30pm 6 - 13 yr olds CLASS AGE RANGE: 4+ Aikido is a soft form of martial art, which teaches us how to harmonise with others, our surroundings, and increases confidence within ourselves. Children of all ages learn a variety of self-defense techniques, weapon work, how to successfully roll and tumble without the danger of injury, and develop fitness levels in a fun and safe environment. FirebirdsTraining Times:- On Holidays CLASS AGE RANGE: 5+ A club for children which teaches them about health and fitness. The lack of physical activity is one of the biggest threats facing young people today because unhealthy children turn into unhealthy adults. Every week children have fun as they improve their strength, balance, co-ordination, flexibility and social skills from our games and exercises. Modern DanceTraining Times:- Restarting in September CLASS AGE RANGE: 6+ Introduce your children to the wonderful world of modern dance, where they will be taught to freely express themselves to modern day music. An ideal opportunity to meet new friends with similar interests. Tai ChiTraining Times:- Friday 8.30pm - 9.30pm CLASS AGE RANGE: 18+ Tai Chi is a series of slow medative movements and breathing exercises designed to relax and harmonise the subtle energies of the body, bringing about a profound feeling of relaxation and well- being that allows the body to gently heal itself. The unique quality of this ancient art allows the practitioner to build up their inner strength, suppleness, stamina and vitality and aids the cardiovascular, skeletal, muscular, nervous and immune systems. |
